Founded
in 1900 from elements of parent company Arthur Mulliner and coachbuilder
A.G. Mulliner. Noted for their designs on leading makes of
chassis.
First body to appear on a Rolls Royce chassis was in
1907.
After WWI their products came to be
regarded as the best of the "new breed" of coachbuilders on a
par with long established companies from the carriage building days such
as Hooper and Barker.
Between WWI and WWII the majority of
their bodies were built on Rolls Royce and Bentley chassis.
One of the few coachbuilders
to resume business after WWII on a reduced scale with most of the other
coachbuilders out of business or retired.
Purchased by Rolls Royce in 1961
and merged with their other coachbuilder Park--Ward to form Mulliner--Park
Ward Ltd.
Company now designs and modifies standard Rolls Royce to
individual taste. |
